About Our Client
We’re partnering with a private manufacturing organization with a growing presence in Texas. The company operates in a multi-entity environment and is continuing to scale through both operational improvements and strategic growth.
This is a high-visibility opportunity to step into a role with direct exposure to leadership while helping strengthen accounting processes and cost visibility across the business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP
- Manage the full close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month, quarter, and year-end close
- Own cost accounting, including BOM and routing roll-ups, cost versions, and cost rolls
- Maintain overhead rates and provide variance analysis across labor, materials, and overhead
- Manage WIP, finished goods, and COGS flow to ensure accurate inventory accounting
- Enforce accruals and proper matching of revenue and expenses, including payroll, commissions, and reserves
- Partner closely with Operations to analyze variances and improve cost accuracy
- Support audits, tax filings, and overall compliance
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to close timelines, inventory reconciliation, and cost accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting workflows and ERP utilization
- Contribute to audit and banking-related activities and support ongoing process enhancements

What You Bring
- At least 5+ years of cost accounting experience
- Strong cost accounting experience, including inventory, BOM, and variance analysis
- Solid understanding of GAAP, including accruals, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting
- Experience working within an ERP system, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and communicate financial insights clearly
- Experience supporting audits and compliance processes
- Independent, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to step into existing processes, understand them quickly, and improve them over time
