About Our Client
We’re partnering with a PE-backed organization in the equipment and infrastructure services space with a growing presence in the Greater Portland area. The company operates across multiple entities and continues to expand through both organic growth and acquisitions.
Over the past year, leadership has made significant investments to build out infrastructure and strengthen the accounting and finance function. This is a high-visibility opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in supporting technical accounting and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Own and support the month-end close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage accounting across multiple entities with varying levels of complexity
- Handle technical accounting areas, including lease accounting and revenue recognition
- Identify and resolve misclassifications and inconsistencies in financial data
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
- Operate in an Excel-heavy environment while helping improve processes and efficiency
- Support an upcoming ERP implementation and system improvements
- Assist in building and formalizing accounting processes as the company continues to scale
- Contribute to audit preparation, financial reporting, and ongoing infrastructure development

What You Bring
- 4–8+ years of accounting experience with a strong technical accounting foundation
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Comfort working in Excel-heavy, manual environments
- Ability to operate in a growing, evolving, and sometimes ambiguous environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to self-review work
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with operations or business leaders
- Exposure to audit support and financial reporting processes
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred, but not required
- Background in public accounting or operational industries such as manufacturing, or distribution is a plus
- Curious, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and improve processes
